The Mark to Market and P&L Insight screens no longer allows grouping by Asset type. Grouping was causing a problem in positions when they contained physical, floating and stock assets because an amount of goods traverses typically through these asset types but they are actually the same. When they were in 1 group, you could see that something moved from e.g. floating to stock. But when they are in separate groups this is much harder to see. Also when they are in separate groups, the summary screen would show 2 P&L changes, while effectively there is no P&L change. Therefore to prevent this grouping in the list, the Asset type column has been removed. Asset type information is still available in the Excel download from the Mark to Market and P&L Asset screens.
It is still possible to filter the Mark to Market and P&L Insight screens by Asset type. Additionally, the Asset type filter has been expanded to include derivative positions and hedged physicals as well as combined sets of assets. The Asset type filer may be used for:
• All derivatives – futures, options and OTC assets
• All physicals - physical, stock and floating assets
• Floating – only floating assets
• Future – only future assets
• Invoice – only invoice assets
• Option – only option assets
• OTC – only OTC assets
• Physical – only physical assets
• Stock – only stock assets
• Stock and floating – both stock and floating assets
